Ceres Chill

I am an IBCLC and ordered these to give out to my lactation clients. I live that they keep milk cold for do long. One of my clients has already used hers on a trip. And she uses it nightly at home to store her pumped milk in saving a trip downstairs to the fridge in the middle of the night.

Convenient but not as advertised

I was so excited to receive my breastmilk chiller as I’ve tirelessly been searching for something that fits my needs. Sadly I was a bit disappointed. I first used my chiller on a busy day full of appointments. I was out for about 8 hours and when I got home I noticed all the ice had been melted. Another time, I went on a day trip to San Francisco, about 7 hours in, my ice was completely melted again. I had my chiller with me all day, it was at no point left in the heat whatsoever. There is no reason for my ice to be melted so quickly. Although convenient, it is not worth the price. It is advertised to be chilled for 20 plus hours. I came nowhere near.

Oh wow! I am SO glad that you're loving the chiller, but please know it can be completely normal for your ice to melt a bit after several hours! Remember, the chiller is designed to hold breast milk, that comes out of your body at 98.6*F, and bring the milk down to a temperature that is safe to store milk! (59*F according to the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine). Even if your ice has melted a bit, it is still working to chill and maintain the temperature of your milk for the rest of the 20 hours! Awesome product!

I wish I’d bought this with my first baby. This has made breast milk storage and pumping so much easier this time around! I love the convenience of being able to pump right into the cooler, which saves me a trip to the fridge in the middle of the night!

Awesome idea and no comparable item

This is the only item on the market that is clearly designed by women and allows me to not have to haul my pump bag everywhere with 5+ pump bottles. I love that there’s multiple ways to use it and store the milk, and it’s wide enough to pour the milk from any pump or bottle (including the Elvie, which has kind of a clunky method of emptying). The only improvements I can think of are that the ice chamber can really only fit small or crushed ice comfortably. If it was even a few cm’s wider I wouldn’t have to hit my home ice with a meat tenderizer (lol) to fit it. The other thing that would be cool but I have no design suggestion for is if there was a way to pour the milk out from the chambers without pulling the dripping middle container out. Maybe some sort of lip?

Altogether, would repurchase in a heartbeat.
